I Think It's Time For A [DRUM] Revolution.

Ever listen to any modern heavy/death metal, or obscenely angry teenage rock? Well, you should put yourself through it just once or twice, harmful it may be to your hearing and your fragile hearts. Listen, in particular, to the drums. The drums, beating a heavy, mean, constant beat into the young listener's ears, and polluting the air with waves of unmusical hate. As CDS says, "There's no sex. No swing." And I agree. Isn't drumming a form of music? And not just a form, but the original, the most animal, the essential pulse of the song? A repeating BLAMBLAMBLAM that gives the same effect as being beaten in the eardrum with an assault rifle gives no pulse, no rest. Again I quote CDS, "Fire is lame." and continuous, pauseless drumming is simply a flame, no explosions. "Explosions are boss."
So I implore not just drummers, but musicians and music lovers alike, STAGE A REVOLUTION. If the masses can form a collective, we can repeat revolutions of the past, create a musical version of Russia's February Revolution and bring ourselves together to take back drumming like the masses took back the power from the bourgeoisie! Let our ears hear TRUE PERCUSSION, studied, mathematical, precise and still animal, sensual, and sexy. Don't you want to hear real music? Don't you wish the world was a little more calm? I know I do.

So join CDS and I, take down incessantly harmful drumming.

For the music in us all,

MeganAnneDear, in all of her MADness.

Twilight: I'd rather be in the sun.

Ah, yes. Twilight, addictive teen vampire book, once again rears it's ugly head in the form of one of the worst movies I have ever had to sit through.
Okay, YES, I read the series, and YES, I liked it. Although it wasn't particularly well-written, the characters were created incredibly well. And YES, I even went to Forks, WA. And YES, I met Stephenie Meyer at the height of my obsession. But Dawn Broke, and the last book was a disappointment. Then, I saw the actors cast for the movie of "Twilight."
Truly, the casting director must be a crack addict, or blind, or just stupid. The only character well cast was Esme, "mother" of the Cullen coven. The movie was poorly acted, has shotty technical work, and details, chronological and otherwise, were greatly ignored. I'm just annoyed that this film was EVEN CREATED. Want to know the worse part? The actors have signed on to finish the series. This is, possibly, the worst pop culture phenomenon ever created.

Now, on to the ever important news about me. JM sucks, MB is the best boyfriend ever, CDS is wayyy more cool than I thought over the summer. I love/hate school, V-SHOW is soon, DU IS MY BEST FRIEND EVER.

Love love love love love.

MADness.

Soph-O-Matic

Okay, I wasn't missing. I started school, I got busy, I'm officially a Soph-O-Matic...
My schedule is as follows, for one more quarter...
1. French 3 - Simon
2.Bel Canto - Marks
3. English Honors - Meyers
4. Music Theory - Marks
5. Lunch
6. PE - Fendt
7. Russian History Honors - WHIPPLE
8. Precalc/stat - Karlovesalot

Basically, best schedule ever.
Now, updates for the year so far:

I rarely, RARELY see JM and CL, especially JM. We no longer have lunch or classes together. CL I have Meyer's english with. I now have a new lunchtable: AC, BK, KD, LB, CH (sometimes...), LH, FI, JD, TAM, and of course, CH. and LM too, sort of...
We claimed the "mexican" corner of the caf. It's the area where mexican food is sold, and there are pinatas. No, seriously.
I have hereby proclaimed DU as my real best friend. I <3 him, and he's the best.
AND THE BEST NEWS OF ALL: I got my nerdy guy. He's nerdy-chic, like a really really badass and cool Michael Cera... MB. Formerly Best Friend MB, now Boyfriend MB... my life is sooo owning right now.

I'll post again when something seriously important and new happens, and that will be....tomorrow. yay.

MADness.

Charlie!

Last weekend, my mother drove down to IU with ES for freshman orientation. So, instead of leaving me alone, she sent me to JM's house. JM has an extra bedroom. Our first night with me there, we watched "Charlie Bartlett." A seriously fantastic movie, kudos to everyone involved.
But that's not my point.
Here's the deal:
Susan, the theater-freak-singing-child-of-divorce-awesome-clothes-girl, is me. Everything about her screams "MEGANANNE!" As we sat quietly in her dark basement, JM whispers, "Holy crap, she's YOU." Oh, more than you can even comprehend.
Recently, it's been decided that I like to think I'm an adult even though I'm really only a kid. The basic theme of "Charlie Bartlett" is being yourself and most of the kids in the movie are playing at adulthood, making adult decisions, seriously, honestly think that they are adults. Now, I won't spoil it for any potential watchers, but they make it in the end. The ending is happy. Kat Dennings, good job on portraying me!

Although I'm pretty sure watching the film again will be like death (I was so uncomfortable the first time), I really want to see it again. I love Charlie. And even moreso, I love MURPHY.

New song!!

So, I've officially finished a song. It is officially finished. I basically love it. And I'll love it for 5 more days.
It is called "Wish I May" and I wrote it with the help of KB and BP, and it's sort of... Idk. Lyrical pop, with a little blues towards the end? I hopefully will move forward with it soon, and you'll all get to hear it. Yay! Let me know if you want a lyrical copy. :)

Batman! (Duhnuhnuhnuhnuhnuh) BATMAN!!

Ok, so, I've found a new obsession. His name beith Bruce Wayne... Better known as Batman. Here is how it started...
I just absolutely could not wait for The Dark Knight. So, forcing my mother along for the insanity, I rented the 6 precursors to The Dark Knight (Or so I thought). We watched from 1989 on, including pathetically awful spinoff Catwoman. Ick. After some research, I did discover that the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher Batmans (Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin) were in fact their own franchise. Batman Begins acts as a franchise restart. So, I guess I wasted my time with the old Batman movies.
So, the obsession. Batman is the realest of all of the superheroes. His skills are from training, his weaponry from hard studying and lots of money. He himself is based on fear and determination. The villains he fights are not special, really... He fights corruption and "Evil", which typically takes the form of someone traumatized or just vengeful. And Batman Begins is one of the best films I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. I love this movie more than I can even describe.
I wish that there was some way that I could become and injustice fighter, some way that I too, could become fear itself.
Of course, my sister ES has decided that loving Batman is shameful. Whatever, butterfly girl.
Count Down to The Dark Knight: 11 days :)

be your fear,
Batgirl

What's Yo Flava?

So, I think toothpaste says a lot about a person. The flavor, or brand, or texture, or qualities of a toothpaste say a lot more about your personality than you may realize. Take me, for example. I use "Kiss Me Mint," and I'm a total flirt. MH uses "Vanilla Mint," which is sweet and safe, just like her. Some people (Even their initials won't be mentioned) don't brush their teeth... And this person happens to be very dirty. I think that an overachiever would probably use the Crest that protects against everything, all the time. Someone with a generic self would probably use generic toothpaste. I've known some of the spicier people in my life to use Cinnamon. CL or JM (don't remember which) uses children's sparkly blue toothpaste. (Crest for Kids?) Anyway, they're fun, and a bit childish.
So think about it...What's yo flava?

And, my summer has officially become no longer summer. Started chem today in summerschool...damn AMBITIONS of mine... MG is half in my class, DW is all in my class, and now my designated lab partner. I wonder what kind of toothpaste he uses?

What makes a best friend?

Summer is officially here. I don't think I've ever had a real "Teenage" summer yet. Maybe, this will be the one. Maybe.
See, here's the problem. I tend to be bored, angry, miserable, and misunderstood when I'm with the girls I call "Best Friends." However, with my other friends I feel freer, more myself. I really have fun.So how come CL and JM are my best friends, and, say, DB, DU, LH, TS, KD are not? If I knew what made best friends "best friends" I would be happier. I tend to hate most teenage girls, just for being teenage girls. I also come on a bit strong.
Maybe the best friends are the girls/guys that deal with you. They're the ones you feel comfortable with. You like them. I love my best friends, but currently, I don't know where we stand. Let's just say the outlook is not exactly positive.
Oh, phooey. My writing is no good. I'm checked out.

Skinny nerdy guys

Morning, Morning, Morning all! Well, it's morning to me. 8:50 central time. I just woke up.

Last night was (Drumroll) The Nine concert! (Nine is a nine-member a capella group; All male) For high school kids, they're suprisingly professional and even more surprisingly talented. I sort of adore them. Anyway, I went with J and we showed up late, only to find about 5 open seats in the entire packed choir room. They sang this song, "Mamma" from 1776 and I had goosebumps. I seriously could have cried. By intermission, I was pretty much assured I was in love with just about every guy up there. All 10 (ZH guested for a song.) There's something about a guy's voice... Give me any guy, his face can literally be a butt, if he can sing, I'm enamored.

New point: Weezer is possibly the most fun-to-watch band EVER. I mean, I love their music, but I watched a half-hour of their videos last night. Rivers Cuomo is pretty much my dream guy. I love nerdy guys, that are awkward, and really into politics/literature/underground music/debate, especially the ones with glasses, and polos, and weird random vintage jackets. Thats just cool. Sometimes I think it would be really cool to be like "Nerdy Chick" but nerdy chicks always seem so asexual. Like they want some punk boyfriends to break their shell.
I spend way too much time thinking about this.

Okay, signing off, time for breakfast with Gramma.

12 Days...

Its official. 12 days of school until we are finished and summer is available for the taking. And even weirder (wierder?) still, YEARBOOKS TOMORROW. It's like...over.

So I've decided I need a gimmick. Everyone has a gimmick, and gimmicks are especially helpful in high school. Personally, I think my gimmick should be scarves. I mean, I can be punky-artist-writer-musician girl as well as the other 1/4 of the teenage girl population. Scarves, though, can be very individualizing. And they're pretty cheap. They can easily be my "thing." I can be Scarf Girl.
Without this gimmick, I could sort of get lost. NM, for instance, is Goth Model Girl. CL is red hair. I guess she didn't have control over that one. KD is Belt Girl. I swear, chick wears at least 2 belts a day. People remember you by your gimmick; you become your gimmick.
Okay, so maybe it's not what I want...

BUT I do want a nickname. Nicknames are awesome and everyone I've ever had has either not stuck or been too inappropriate. So I think a gimmick, used to greatest advanage, could provide nicknames. So I don't have a gimmick or a nickname...
COMMENT WITH GIMMICK IDEAS!!

Thanks.
PEACE, NOW AND FOREVER.

First post!!!!

Hey everyone.
Megan Anne here. Today, I'm lacking in inspiration today. However, having this blog for the first day, I guess I'll just put up a lame post until something interesting happens.
I didn't go to school today, stayed home with what wasn't really food poisoning per se, more just food...irritation. So I sat at home reading blogs, watching On Demand, and eating matzo. Wow, what a future I have!
